Burden FreeFoods was founded by two friends and food collaborators, Judy Mancini and Martine Marcus. Because of our shared interest and passion for great food that is also healthful for our families and the planet, we opened Go Organics, a specialty organic and local catering company. Additionally, we participated in New Jersey Farmers Markets for a few years getting to know the farmers and YOU...what you liked, wanted and needed! Through this experience we realized the growing need for gourmet quality, artisanally produced 'special needs' foods, in particular gluten free. This adventure led us to Burden Free Foods, a company dedicated to bringing the flavors and sensations of truly delicious local foods to those who are on restricted diets. It's so good, that you never feel you are 'settling' and you will never again utter the words 'it's pretty good for gluten free'.

A little bit about us...

Mancini, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with a substantial history in the New York restaurant scene, became director of the lunch program at a local charter school that serves a strictly vegetarian menu. In 2006, she won the "golden carrot" award from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for encouraging the students to eat more healthfully. She has also received accolades from PETA.

Marcus grew up in a French home where cooking was serious playtime. She spent years immersed in the food industry in Dallas, Texas and New York City as everything from chefs' apprentice to wild game sales. In her second lifetime she has been devoted to design and marketing  - of late combining all her skills to the development of Burden Free Foods.
