Local seasonal ingredients are the hallmark for Burden Free Foods prepared foods. Fresh and simple food is prepared with consideration to health and wellness. Burden Free Foods' emphasis is on specialty needs including Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Dairy Free, and Vegetarian/Vegan.
Burden Free Foods was founded by two friends, Judy Mancini and Martine Marcus. They both share a passion for good food that is healthful for their families and the planet. Mancini, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with a substantial history in the New York restaurant scene, became director of the lunch program at a local charter school that serves a strictly vegetarian menu. In 2006, she won the "golden carrot" award from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for encouraging the students to eat more healthfully. Marcus, also spent years immersed in the food industry in New York City during the '80's, later settling into a design career. Their partnership has been the inspiration for many great meals and their collaboration has resulted in the creation of delicious, artisinal products made with local and pure ingredients.
Currently, a partial menu of Burden Free Foods prepared fare and assorted yummies are available at Drip Great Coffee, in Madison, New Jersey. As well, gluten free cookies and organic popcorn are available at the Health Shoppe in Morristown, New Jersey. Off-site catering services are available for up to 100 people.
